Gabriel Traverso was born in Berkeley, California and raised by wolves and cartoon characters. Over the years he has had some difficulty fitting in with society for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being inner demons and a tendency to speak first, think later. In 1990 he was inspired to begin playing guitar, unoriginally by Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.

He has been living in Reno, Nevada for the past thirteen years, just one more transplanted Californian. However, the small town nature of Reno seems to suit his reclusive tendencies, and there have been few complaints.

His musical influences are many: Paul Simon, Oingo Boingo, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Talking Heads, Pixies, and PJ Harvey, just to name a few.

He has recorded two albums of original material: Time Won't Dry My Laundry and The Moth And The Light, and is working on a third record with a newly formed trio. He has been compared to Les Claypool, Tom Waits, and most recently described as Nick Cave covering Morrissey.
